Find a scrap piece of cloth and cover the wax. You can use an iron to iron over the cloth. The melted wax will be melted and absorbed.
Use a towel and iron to heat the wax and remove it.
Thank you for your help. I did try that soon after it happened. Maybe iron wasn't hot 🔥enough. Told to use paper towel at the time.
