Easy
Never search for a pen again. Make these colorful elastic closures for your notebooks. Add a pen loop and a charm and you're set. All you need: colorful 1" elastic, fabric scrap, matching thread and a charm.
Begin by wrapping elastic around notebook cover only. Make sure it's snug fitting. Cut.
- Wrap fabric around your elastic, add 1/2" and cut.
-Sew creating a tube. You may sew one short end closed for ease of turning inside out. Then cut off closed end. Iron with the seam in the middle. Then cut to 3 1/2" pieces.

-Turn one end in 1/2". Insert other end in to opposite end making sure it fits around elastic. Hand stitch closed.
-Tack on a charm if you wish, slip elastic on to notebook, store a pen in the fabric loop and you're done. Cool right!

good idea - great minds think alike - I use a composition notebook each year and call it 'my everything' - I even glue a calendar into the back - this would be a great help to keep a pen always handy
