Can the inside of a clothes dryer be painted?

I dried a permanent marker in my dryer and it looks like a dalmatian dog.

I would leave it be. You can probably try removing the permanent marker with nail polish remover or magic eraser. Paint isn't made to deal with regular high heat, and it's not worth the risk of ruining all your clothes!
  • As long as the marker is not rubbing off on your clothes, do not mess with it. The enamel finish should be left alone. Any painting will only gum up the works and could end up getting on clothes when the dryer gets hot.
