growing pumpkins?

My grandkids and I saved pumpkins seeds last year from our Halloween pumpkins. We planted seeds. It was great to see the kids faces when they saw the seeds split open and the plant start to emerge. We have planted them and we have PUMPKINS VINES, even small pumpkins already. Question, the vines are getting very very long with a lot of blooms. Should I, could I cut the vines back some and should I remove some of the many blooms? I sure hope the grand kids have their own pumpkins for Halloween.

Gloria, you want some spacing between the vines, but they can be as long as you have room for. I wouldn't remove blossoms as you don't know how successful their pollination will be.

As Douglas suggests, wait until you have fruit then remove most of them to get bigger fruit from those that remain
