How do I keep sand from getting into my home?

We live in the desert even though we take our shoes off at the door we seem to collect a lot of sand I mean a lot I have Matt’s at all doors to wipe feet, I have a special screen that magnett locks together to keep sand out on windy days. I water down the yard to keep the sand down nothing seems to work do you have any Ideas to help me cut the sand intake?Repectfuly Yours,Patricia Fekay

    I live at the beach and feel your pain! My only suggestion is no shoes in the house and have a towel outside to wipe down your legs.

    Patty...Maybe step in pan with water then use towel. I can only imagine that the pan water will have to be changed quite often!

    An expensive solution is a Roomba. We live on a lake and the kids all pitched in and bought one at Christmas (probably because I was nagging all the time) it works really well.

    Roomba's are great, but, you cannot leave them on their own to do a job. In other words, you cannot start a Roomba and go off to work or else where and expect a swept floor when you return. They do a really good job when conditions are right. They do get stuck under furniture and the back end where the swept up products goes falls off. So, you have a Roomba running around and sweping up nothing if it does not have the back end securly attached.

    Please dont get me wrong, we have had several of these and still have 1 currently, jusrt be aware of their limitations.
