I want to remove the mini tiles/back splash in my kitchen. What is the easiest way to do it without creating a mess?

If the tile was installed properly you won’t be able to do it without a mess. The adhesive is pretty much married to the drywall for life. Removing the tile will ruin the drywall.

Try something with a flat blade like a metal or plastic spatula. The wider one which you use for drywall projects should work okay and the blade is thin so you should be able to push it under the edge of the tile and pop it off.

So true!!! If you choose to remove your tiles you can certainly reinstall with a different product. A suggestion would be to use tin ceiling tiles cut to fit. There are many kinds and you can cut and install fairly easily. Go to your local big box stores and look over the assortment of these tiles. I think if you buy 1, take it home and set it over your tiles for just a look/see. Talk to the manager there about textures added to paint for a rough looking finish. Good luck!!!!
