I have an aluminum stair railing and it needs cleaning, also has paint splatter from painting the balasters....
Use stripper to remove the paint. Then clean
Thanks. A bit hesitant to use stripper but it may be the only option.
Vinegar does a good job of cleaning aluminum. You can put a clear car wax on the aluminum after cleaning to protect it, You nay have to lightly sand off the dried splatters first.
Hadn't thought about vinegar. Sanding maybe, but you gave me an idea... maybe steel wool.
Steel wool may scratch a little so maybe try it in an inconspicuous spot first. Aluminium can be painted with aluminum paint if you desire.
