I like to hang them outside on the clothes line and spray with a cleaner mixed with bleach water. Rinse with your jet sprayer hose and dry thoroughly in the sun. They will smell good when you take them in. Be sure to rinse well!!!

I don't have an area outside where I can hang them so I use the bathtub and a small clothes drying rack. Put warm water in the tub with some dawn dish soap (Not a lot, don't need suds) and let soak for about 5 minutes. Let the water out and rinse. Gather the blind up, put your rack in the tub and drape that blind over it. Let drain and dry completely. Slow process but works in my small home/area.

    Hi Ellen,

You can also use dust cloths and a pair of tongs to clean off the dust. If they are dirty, dip the cloths into warm water with Dawn (and vinegar if they are greasy) then use them that way. Make a pocket with the cloths holding top and bottom with the tongs the slide it across the blinds. I hope that helps. Wishing you the best.

Metal blinds can rust if they become too wet and also the hardware inside will rust. Here are some cleaning ideas for you that could help

In the tub. 50/50 bleach to water. Cover the loosely laid blinds, submerge them completely let it sit for a while then spray off with shower. Let them sit to dry.
