You have to clean your driveway then widen and clean the cracks out so that there is enough space for the patch and so that there isn't any loose dirt and stuff to keep the patch from sticking to the original concrete. You will note that there will be a difference in the color of the patch and the original concrete so if that bothers you you will need to let the patch set and harden then paint or tar your overall driveway.
