How do you decide what to use to restain cabinets?

I have "pickled oak" kitchen cabinets. I just want a refreshed look. I thought I wanted to stain over them with the same color. What I read about General Finishes brand sounds good, but confusing to read about all the types and colors they have. I will be doing this myself and need to do them the easiest way possible! How hard could it be since you are just doing them in the same color?

If you just want the cabinets refreshed looking try cleaning them really good with Murphy's wood soap first and see how they look. I had a kitchen that had knotty pine board on the walls. Was dark and dingy. It took some time and work plus several buckets of water and a bottle of the Murphy's wood soap but I was amazed at how much brighter walls were and they actually shined. Murphy's doesn't effect the finish so other than washing, rinsing and drying it was fairly simple if time consuming. Good luck.
