How do I get rid of gnats on house plants?

I have knats on my house plants

  • They are probably fungus gnats that lay eggs in the damp soil. Let the soil dry out and the eggs will die.

    place wine vinegar and a few drops of dish detergent in a small glass dish cover with plastic wrap and make small holes in the top of the plastic. Make sure you make plastic wrap tight around the dish. Works great for me!!!

    Neem oil or a product like Safers insecticidal soap.

    Could they be white flies? I used an insecticide that you mix in with the soil...water well, and it absorbs into the plant roots and up the stem into the leaves. All white flies are killed or disappear.

    I had a terrible gnat problem and the vinegar traps worked perfectly! Simply place a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar, a few drops of dish soap, and a tablespoon of sugar in a bowl and stir. Set your bowl in an area where gnats are prevalent, such as your kitchen or bathroom. This took care of my problem in just a couple of days!
