If it is real butcher block (unsealed - not shiny) and you use it for cutting one or putting food on, clean it like you would a cutting board (lemon and salt is a popular way to clean wooden cutting boards, but when I worked in restaurants at a time they still allowed butcher block we used bleach water with heavy duty steel wool and then wet bar mops followed by a coat of mineral oil to finish). If it is sealed/finished butcher block, clean it like you would any other wood furniture.
Just use a little dish soap and water, then coat it with a little food grade mineral oil like you would a cutting board.
Is it laminate or wood? Laminate would be cleaned like a counter. If it is sealed (a glossy or shiny finish that causes moisture to bead up) I would clean it with a damp microfiber cloth.
