I’ve tried sanding/ need something to remove this horrible paint on this cedar cabinet
The easiest thing would be to paint a new color over top. Stripping paint is hard messy work.
Will do ... it’ll be my first... thank you
Have you tried Citristrip? That's what I use.
So welcome Bev! 🌞
Paint stripper for heavy paint deposit, for all materials; don’t forget the scraper and lastly use
Mineral spirits, order less to clean up.
reminder: Kindly read instructions and what materials you might need.
Best of luck
Thanks for the advice and luck lol ... going to need it/ just thankful they didn’t paint the inside
For heavily painted surfaces I usually start with a heat gun and a sharpened painters’ knife on the flat surfaces. Then follow up section by section with stripper, including same sanding and solvent washes. Even if you decide to repaint, rather than a natural finish, the lines and details will look much better than just repainting. Always have lots of ventilation and proper eye and skin protection. Good luck.
Will do ... thank you John
paint stripper and lots of hard work
You got that right / that’s Alot of yellow lol ... thanks j
A heat gun makes you feel like something's happening quicker, especially if there's a ton of layers. The paint will bubble up and you remove it with a putty knife. Then follow up with a stripper if you need and sand. Do it outside; don't breathe the toxic fumes.
Thank you Lora will definitely do outdoors
Citri-strip is your friend. Apply it liberally then lay a sheets of saran wrap over it and let the stripper do its work on the old paint. It's a messy job but well worth the effort if you truly want all the old layers of paint GONE!
kinda excited to try the Citristrip... thanks for responding to my plight lol
I've used a heat gun, carefullyl.
Going to try Citristrip, I think I’d be shy of the heat gun lol ... thank you Deborah
