I have an Oion air purifier that works wonders on cooking odors. It uses PCO technology that is safe to run all the time. It also has an ozone setting that can be used when you are not home. Ozone destroys odors molecularly. Ours was only about $100 on Amazon and we've had it for 3 or 4 years. LOVE IT! My sister got one too!

Cedar would probably help. You can buy it in chips. If you own the town house, buy cedar wood and encase the closet and seal all edges.

Hello Barbara! Because you live in a townhouse there isn't much you can do to stop the smells from your neighbors cooking from entering your space. It is probably coming from more places than your living room closet. You can do things however to make your space smell fresher. Open the windows, spray Febreze Air Effects, burn odor removing candles, or use a essential oil diffuser with a citrus oil.
