How do I repair a chipping birdbath?

I have a metal painted birdbath. The paint is chipping off in the bowl. What can I use to repair it that won’t be toxic to the birds?

RustOleum should be fine once it has dried.
Try sanding it down, priming it with metal paint and put another coat of paint that will withstand standing water over top.
I had this same problem. I sanded off any peeling paint and then spray painted it. It has held up really well.
Did anyone else read this question as Chirping Birdbath? LOL
