Let me know when you figure it out! My sister in law offered but I can’t be there she said!

Maybe that is the answer, let someone else do it. Maybe if they just took out what they think h stored it somewhere for 30 days & you did not miss it you never would. Got to give that some thought, just not sure I could do that.

How about an estate sales planner. They can organize and sell your items. You may have treasures that may be worth some bucks. While they sell your items over a weekend or so you can plan a nice vacation with the profits.

    Hi Barb,

I feel what you're going through. I also have a hard time letting go of some things. I actually have what is left of a container made with a cardboard ice cream carton that my 48 year old son made in KINDERGARTEN! LOL I also have a doll made with corn husks made that my 39 year old daughter made in elementary school. Things like that are hard to let go, but I've found that there are a lot of things I'm ready to let go of NOW. That includes things that have been in my family for many years. I have keepsakes from my grandparents and parents that I have passed on to my children so that they can enjoy them and I still see them when I visit. I've also dumped a lot of junk that I just don't need anymore. I had more patterns that I would EVER use, including a whole book about using "new" stretch material. The items are no longer in style so it was time to let them go. Go through closets and old boxes first to see what you REALLY need to keep. If it's been out of sight for years, what can you do to give it a new life? Who would love to have it or is it something you kept "just in case". Set aside some time weekly or daily and make an "appointment" with yourself to tackle one area at a time. Sort items into Keep, Toss and Sell or Donate. Then take action. Wishing you the best.

  • Hi Barb - This is one of my favorite articles on cleaning, organizing and decluttering. It really breaks down the steps of the process, and even includes an interview with TV show Hoarders star Matt Paxton. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
