Turn a basic wood tray into a modern, colorful grab and go organizer for your foyer. With a few simple craft supplies you'll have a tray to corral all your go to items. Never forget your keys, wallet or other essentials when they are corralled in a cute tray right by the door.

Here is what I started with.

An unfinished wood tray, painters tape and spray paint. I chose white blue and black in a glossy finish.

I started by spraying the bottom of the tray with white spray paint. When that coat dried, I taped off stripes evenly spaced along the bottom of the tray. Then I covered the sides with tape as well. I painted these stripes with black spray paint. When this was dry I slowly removed the tape to reveal beautiful stripes.

Finally I covered the bottom of the tray and spray painted the sides with a glossy light blue paint.

This tray is modern and fun while also serving a much needed purpose.

A simple wood tray become a grab and go organizer that holds all my essentials. I love having this by the back door so I don't forget a thing!

Are you covering the painted strip to paint the next white color?
