I agree with both the begonias and the impatiens. I have a shady front yard and have both in hanging baskets, as well as spider plants. I go for the brighter colored begonias and impatiens that really show up well in shady areas to brighten them up. I like the bright red and orange reds, have also had some yellow begonias that showed up nice and bright. I usually go with the tuberous begonia plants, they have done great and bloom all summer and stay full and head themselves.
