I believe the best way to handle it is to dig them up.

These are designed to breakaway if you try to pull them up, leaving you with a handful of gree tops and the bulblet stays in the ground with the roots.
The best way is to dig them up, being careful to not shake off the dirt & you also do not want to compost them.
