We have carpenter bees from H.we’ve put out traps according to directions without any takers. I look like I’m having a seizure trying to hit them with an electric swatter . Any suggestions?

Carpenter or wood bees are pollinators and therefore important to our ecosystem. Unless they are being too destructive, you should just let them be (pun intended).

Thank you but they are very destructive. New deck, even though primed and painted taking a hit from these little monsters

Jan...They will destroy a home! My husband has worked with a friend of his for years trying to keep them from eating a cabin he has in the mountains. They have filled holes and finally wrapped exposed timbers with tin to stop them. We were there a few weeks ago and they are boring again on any place they can find. He worked on places again trying to discourage them but they can truly destroy a house. He did the mason jar traps but they are too smart for that!

They are very sensitive to smell. You can spray WD-40, but that can get very expensive. We use termite control Hi-Yield 38Plus, mixed to termite ratio, in a garden sprayer. Spray the area well and they will stop drilling in your wood. We do it twice a year and has been very effective for us.
