How do I unstick roll top desk sliding door?

I have a roll top desk with the sliding door. How do I make the roll top slide easily?

    Have you considered using WD 40? It won't hurt the wood and will let it slide more smoothly. Try a little and have a paper towel handy in case it travels. Hope this helps Judy. That's what I would do.

    beeswax, you can get a block of it at the hardware or art supply store

    Yes to the wax! Honestly even candle wax will work. :)

    I use Lemon Pledge. You can spray it on or put it on a rag or if it is a small groove put some on a qtip. I use pledge on anytjing that slides sticky drawers, aluminum window/door tracks,. I have a sliding door on a medicine cabinet that I use Pledge on. Whatever you choose to use make sure the groove is clean of any dust or grime

    A bar of soap sliver will work perfectly also!

    Pretty much any wax will work, candle, beeswax, crayons (match the color), you might start with a liquid such as WD 40 and then migrate to solid wax.

    I saved old tapered candles for this type of thing but old crayons work also and almost everybody has some old crayons.
