I've seen people make 'screens' for them with lattice or you could plant bushes around it.
You should not plant around the unit for 2 reasons , they need clear space around them and they need to be able to be accessible for maintenance and repair . You can probably put an easily removeable decorative screen around
It , but don't put it too close , give it some room between the unit and the screen .
You don’t want to plant bushes and restrict air flow over the coils or you’ll burn out the unit.
I have a friend who put a small section of fence a couple of feet away. She decorates seasonally and it's super cute. You can also use lattice as suggested. I would steer clear of plants for reasons Pamela stated.
Hi my son used lattice. .plastic so he doesn't have to paint it .looks nice. .
