Usually small tiles come on nylon mesh sheets. Just cut the mesh with a razor knife to get a line of tiles. Install them just like regular tiles.

First, install cement board - we use screws to affix. I prefer the ready mixed mastic adhesive. When you purchase your tile, make sure to purchase spacers that are the same size as space on the 12" x 12" sheet. Floors: It is recommended that you draw 2 lines that intersect in the center of the room for your starting point but I always start in a corner.

Lay down the mastik with a notched trowel (size recommended based on tile & mastik) then lay your first sheet. Place spacers on the corners and repeat the process laying a straight line either vertical or horizontal. Repeat process for the next row until all are laid in place.

To cut, you can purchase a small saw with a tile cutting blade or try to cut with a pair of tile snips.

If you lay the tile on the wall, I suggest you place a screw in multiple places to avoid tile sections sliding down (it happens).

Once tile is completely set, grout & clean. When grout is dry, seal.

I start where one’s eyes will focus on first.

For example the non-plumbing wall in a bathroom, usually what one sees when sitting on the toilet.

The cuts are behind the toilet, then.
