When my kids were small I filled plastic eggs with just one or two small candies like m&m's, so they had the fun of the egg hunt but not too much chocolate. Half the eggs I put small things like stickers inside.

Coloring eggs is also a thrill. Just accept that it will be messy.

Agreed. At that age ANYTHING fun and messy would be a ++. Coloring eggs has gotten much simpler since my kids were little, they have kits that have non staining little mess, easy clean up now that u can get almost anywhere. The Easter basket of course w/ little toys, some candy, coloring book etc. Eater egg hunt, eggs hidden where they can be found by 2 year old. Suggest plastic. Plastic eggs hung in trees. And for Christians. .. Sunday service. Can't forget the reason for the season.

  • Easter egg hunt! When we were real little, my mom would color the eggs and she and my dad went out in the wee hours of the morning and hid 4 dozen eggs. She placed in the metallic paper muffin cups to protect from morning dew. With a 2 year old, a dozen should suffice. Now you can just buy pretty plastic eggs at any dollar store and fill with candies, stickers or anything that fits in them. We also received gifts like bubbles, hula hoops, and outdoor games, sidewalk chalk. And every child needs a stuffed bunny, lamb or chick!
