Easy Eggshell Art – Upcycled Easter Bunny Decoration

Art from eggshells? Why not? It is Easter after all. I wasn't sure how easy or difficult this project was going to be but I wanted to give it a try. It turns out it was pretty easy but it does take a little time.

I started with some white and colored eggshells.

And an old thrift store canvas.

I used some gray house paint to cover the canvas and traced the bunny onto the canvas.

I did a little experimenting with how to apply the crushed up eggshells to the canvas. The best way to apply the shells was with a 50/50 mix of white glue and water. Then I used a stiff paint brush to position the eggshell pieces in place.

The last step was to put a coat of mod podge on the top to add a little shine and the secure the eggshell pieces in place.

I did use quite a bit of mod podge as the eggshells are a little bit rough and the application needs to be gentle so the shell pieces do not get pulled off.

You can find all the details in the attached video.

I love this. I do a lot of crafts using eggshells. I also paint, and carve on them. This will be a wonderful project to work on. I am thinking of doing a design for my kitchen . ( farm scene ). Have a blessed day, and thank you for inspiration.
