Here's a picture of the holes. Need I say more
Yes it is near the sink. They are from a hammer.
there are kits to repair such damage, or you can get a sheet of new laminate veneer and install over the current one. you would need to pull the sink out and re install.
Ha. If I pull the sink out, I'm going to buy a new one.
You don't happen to know the name of the kit or a few words I could google to find one.
You can use Bondo on it and then re-paint the top with a Plastic Laminate Paint system.
This is a lot of work, but it's an alternate:
If you can find a sample chip of plastic laminate (at a DIY store) then you can call the factory (Wilsonart, Formica, etc.) to order a large sample, like 5"x7". Then if you can borrow a Dremel tool, buy a couple attachments to cut through the laminate.
If you've ever done a double-cut overlay method for wallpaper seams, it's the same concept. Cut through 2 layers of plastic lam.
Then you'll need to epoxy in the patch and fill in the cracks with matching latex paint (like tiny grout).
Thank you. I own quite a few handheld tools.
The easiest way is to dig out the burn damage and get some tiles and install a hot pad with the tiles. Get some that coordinate with the counter. Should only cost a few dollars and an hours worth of work.
Cut out the hole and install a cutting board. Or a piece of something like a trivet to put hot dishes on. You would need some sort of trim a round them.
I would fill in with bondo and buy the RUSTOLEUM KIT to redo the countertop comes in different colors
I would cut out a design or initial and fill it in with cement that has a color....it would look pretty cool us durable.
Go to ace, they have a gorilla glue that dries like a rock! You can play with different ideas! Don't see it as a problem ...see it as a challenge..then meet that challenge!lol
