When I lived in Texas we had dozens of orchids on our patio. Covered the patio with shade cloth (top and 2 sides) so they didn't get any direct sunlight. The shade clothe was attached to pressure treated 2x4's for the roof and 4x4's for the sides. Hung the plants on plastic lattice work (plastic so it could take the moisture). So that sort of made a shade cloth cave for them. And we used a garden hose with the spray attachment set on the finest setting so we could give them a shower.
