How can I enlargan antique carved wood "double" headboard into a king?

I have inherited a beautiful hand carved (not THAT intricate though) wooden headboard that is pre-queen or king size beds. I'd like to repurpose it into a king size without devaluing it. I just want to extend the sides to a king width and make it like it was always like that. Any suggestions, you guys?? Pic can come later....

Hmm... that is a tough one without changing the value of the headboard as it. Can you build a "frame" or something like that around it on all sides with that original headboard in the middle? That would extend it but make it look like it was the centrepiece of the headboard in the middle.

Really need pictures. Unless very plain, would be better to make a new one

You can buy a bed frame that will fit a queen mattress and will attach to your headboard as it is. Check Amazon.

IF it is just a headboard, Amazon has some types of adapters which will adjust it. If it is an entire bed, that would be harder since King is longer and wider than full bed. But what we did is use the headboard with an adapter that fit a purchased frame. It works even though the headboard is a little smaller than the bed. I like it.
