What do I use to clean the tacky finish off the coffee table?

Hi. I am redoing a coffee table for my daughter....2nd time around?!! Lol. Anyway she was cleaning it with a house hold cleaner and a wet rag! 😩it got sticky and tacky to the touch! I tried to clean it off with restore but didn’t do anything still sticky! Now am attempting to sand it down again to the bare wood..am using 60 grit fight now for the first go around

You probably want to gently scrape to get the tacky finish off. Using a stripper will make the job easier to remove top finish and then sand.
Maybe a tac rag would do it. You can buy them at a hardware or Walmart.

Did you apply polyurethane (at least 4 coats) after staining it? That will help prevent it from getting sticky and make it resistant to household cleaning chemicals, etc.
Did you paint it with chalk paint? If so, I would strip just the spot that is giving you trouble and repaint with chalk paint. :)
