How do I get rid of ants?
When the weather starts warming up I get allot of ants outside which leads them to come inside. What's a easy way to get rid of them?

Yesterday ants started invading my microwave. I need a safe method for cleaning the microwave and getting rid of the ants before they invade the kitchen.
Diatomaceous earth at the entrances should help to keep them out.
Exterior, I poke a hole in the bed and pour boiling water in the hole.
Boric acid powder too.
I usually buy an ant spray at the hardware store (or even Target) and spray along the windows and doors of our house. This isn't the most natural way, but it works! I have to spray it a few times throughout the warmer seasons.
Corn meal before it rains...they take it back to the nest and when it rains, it kills them.
The safest way for me is to find the mounds or holes by following the ants trail back to their home. I generously sprinkle sweetened cornbread and muffin mix on and around the mound or hole. They go for the sweet and all eat it and they die because they can't digest the corn meal. It is safe for all except ant type critters. Check the areas daily, if the cornmeal is gone and you can still elicit activity, recover the area. It is amazing how many ants can be in the small, much less large ant mounds. I found once it took three times to kill off one, but it was a huge mound by my neighbors sidewalk to her house and it was also large ants. The small mound by it only took once (she was on vacation and we were watching her house and I took care of a few things she doesn't normally do). This works well for me and I don't have to worry about harming any of the cute creatures that live in my neighborhood.
Hi Christina - Those little buggers are relentless, aren't they?!? This is the most effective method and all-natural spray DIY that we use with ants. It's best indoors, but will also work outside with more frequent applications. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
