I understand this is outside but would this be in the elements or under some sort of roof?
It doesn't get much cheaper than a thrift store find, Michelle! Here's one of my most popular projects - a plant stand from a thrift lamp! It's inexpensive, easy, and totally unique.
I love this idea for turning tomato cages into plant stands: https://www.marthastewart.com/1512128/tomato-cage-plant-stand-hack
Hi, Michelle. Here's a pic of three of my plant stands (plus a platform bird feeder) that I made from thrifted floor lamps. None cost more than $3. Just remove all the electrical components and add a container for the soil and plants (I used thrifted plastic bowls for the most part). The method of attaching the container to the lamp base varies depending on the way the base is made--I especially like the ones with a wide base for the light as it gives more support for your container. Most of mine are just wired or glued to the lamp base. If you want more info. let me know and I can provide better pix and information. Have fun!
