Am in process of revamping bbq area and would love some suggestions if you can look past all the “treasures” that have been stored there for winter. It’s about 20 feet long and is west facing so gets afternoon sun an d also have to work around 3 sprinklers that are along the foundation . Thanks in advance for your input.

I guess if it was me I’d take some dirt out to lower it by a few inches, put weed barrier down and put in stone. Add a few cute pots and garden sculptures on top of the stone in the corners or covering water meters etc. Too much brown going on.

What an opportunity! This wall craves attention. I'm thinking two or three trellis-es with vines rooted either in your planters or the ground. A couple of decorative metal accents - Sun and Moon, Stars, Maple leaves or something will fill out the space. Mulch the ground and set your treasures out on display. You can even add a string of twinkle lights for an extra sparkle when you bar-be-que. Cheers!

Dixie: I agree with Kelly... stone is the low-maintenance way to go!

First cover this area with Desert small rocks,... they come in different colors and then lay flat stones that are holding plants like (Lantana) in colorful pots and butterfly's do love them and maybe some lights that are solar, you can buy them at any dollar store for $1.00, they have cool items to decorate yard... and finally seal the wood deck to last a very long time and proved from rotten... enjoy your planting.. I love yard work, i made my back yard into a small park.... :) enjoy...

First of all, it'll be better to clean all the area. Plant lawn near the house wall, place there some more garden lights. The idea with a rock was good either. If I were you, I'd purchase a portable grill, like these , because there is not so many space for a huge one. Also, I'd made a canopy over this area and place some garden armchairs.
