How do I get my push lawn mower to work?

I've a push mower and it was working fine and I went into the house to take a break and when I came back out it refuse to start. I clean the air filter and put it away. I got it out yesterday and it started right up but again I went into the house and came back out and it refuse to start. What could be wrong?? Thank You for your help!!!

Carburetor problems. It’s flooding with gas or it’s getting too hot. How is the spark plug? How is the gap? Is it dirty or corroded?
If you dare to take it apart, photograph it as you do, so you’ll remember how to put it together again.
Try a new spark plug.
Sounds to me like it's overheating. When it's running the air sweeping over the fins are cooling it. When you stop the fins can't cool it down fast enough. Make sure you have fresh gas in it. Replace the spark plug.
