It depends on the kind of animals, but for rabbits and other small, non-digging creatures, chicken wire or mesh works well.

I love spray Liquid Fence! Smells bad but works great to keep rabbits, deer etc. away from certain areas. Spray every day. Honestly it would probably keep anything away. haha
