Personal choice. Depending on your style. My wood trim is natural wood grain. I have seen trim painted different color than the walls or floor. A lot of people paint theirs white. Some older homes have dark stained trim. Some paint them a shade darker than the walls.

Mine is neither. I have red oak floor sealed with no stain. Walls are a greige color. Trim is bright white. That combination is rather standard in decorating now but mid century was more all trim to match wood flooring.

All my trim is darker than the floors and walls (mid century house) and it looks fine. All the trim around the floors, Windows and doors are the same no matter what is around them. The bathroom is the only one that has white paint on the trim around the window.

I like my trim white so that it stands out, but you can match whatever you want. Others like it stained. It's your home, do your trim the way you like it.

My rim matches the floor but it is up to you.
