Sure. Remove all the hardware, doors. And drawers. Wash everything down with TSP and then sand the sheen off. Prime with oil based primer, lightly sand again if not smooth. Paint 2 coats of finish paint.

Chris: Take off doors (label where they should go back) and remove all hardware/hinges (not doing that shows an amateur job)
Prime! Paint with two coats of good latex. Reinstall and enjoy. ...treat them gently for a month or so while the paint "cures."
