How to redo a closet?

Give more space with shelves and drawers.

    I found some closet organizer hardware at Lowe's or Home Depot. I removed the old rod. The hardware was mounted to back wall studs and a vertical wall hung from the bracket. I fastened shelves between wall and center bracket. The old rod was shortened and I had 2 half-height hanging rods on one side. There are many closet organization systems out there.

    We just did this today with a small closet. My husband lowered the rod, then screwed wood supports onto the sides of the wall, cut boards to fit and laid them over the top of the supports. The shelf gave us lots of extra storage!

    I am doing this in my closet . It is more of a step in , not a walk in , closet . 3 by 5 ...

    I bought a hAnging pole , that hangs right from the for that gives you double hanging space for shorter items , like shirts and skirts . Then on one of the short sides i put floor to ceiling side shelving . On the side side , top shelf area , I added a second shelf above it , to make use of wasted space , on my other short side , on that too shelf area I put up cubes with basket storage . I am still in the process of doing this project !!! My goal is to get rid of my dresser and have more open space in my bedroom , by cutting everything in my closet ...

    One option is to get a closet kit from Lowe's. We did this for a walk in closet because I wanted drawers and shelves, and it really turned out amazing! Ours was the wood Allen Roth kits from Lowe's.

    I used a closet kit made by Rubbermaid that had options for drawers and additional shelving.
