How can I find out if a parking lot mixture will stick to an old concrete drive way that the smooth service has just about gone. I'm not sure what this mixture is called. I'm getting on in age and am afraid I may fall on what's left of it. And hope it won't cost to much. I'd make a picture but, I don't know how to put on here. Sorry

Asphalt will not grip to concrete.

Yes I know that asphalt will not stick to concrete. But the mixture that I'm talking about has small stones in it, and they go over it with a roller to make it flat. But it's not asphalt. Thank you for trying to help. If i find out what this mixture is called ill let you know. I may have to call a construction company to find out.

V, it sounds like what you are describing is asphalt based with aggregate mixed in. It is commonly used, but will not work over your concrete driveway. You need some type of concrete overlay to repair the surface if that is what you are trying to achieve. Yes, talk to a concrete specialist to see what your options are.

Asphalt and blacktop are similar products just a difference in the mix based on the application.

Similar as different concrete mixes for different applications.

What you can do is resurface the driveway with a latex modified resurfacing cement.

Thank you so much. Now I just need to know where to find this? Who can put it on? And after this is applied do I then have this blacktop put on over it, or is this latex all I need.

That asphalt mix is for commercial applications. Parking lots, roads, etc. A different asphalt mix for driveways. The concrete would need to be removed. Ground dug up, gravel base, then the asphalt mix laid and compacted. Any company that does driveways.
