If the granite is sealed and shiny stain will not last as in the article from CribbsStyle. Basically it will wash out since granite is not porous enough.

Hello there, Well, I don't think staining is the answer here. If you don't like the colour and don't wish to remove the countertop, I would suggest you consider covering it with Ceramic tiles etc. or Clad over it and form a new surface.
