Custom Pecan Desk

5 Materials
$50

Hey all! This was a custom order laptop desk that we made using a gorgeous slab of pecan wood. If you are looking to build a desk that is simple and requires minimal tools, this one is definitely for you. And the finished product is beautiful.

We first finished it up using Odies oil, it's the best solution for natural wood. It gives it a natural finish, and works to prevent any staining on the wood.

These were the three pieces that we used.

We then glued the boards together to give it a live edge look. It looks seamless.

Hair pin legs are really in right now, so we of course went with them as the table base. They are super easy to attach as well. We also love the contrast of the black metal and natural wood look.

The legs are in, and it's good to go.

And that's it, the desk is finished and looking gorgeous.

Our client was super happy with the desk, and we're proud of it too. Check out our videos to see more of the process!

  • Love this! What are your tips for sourcing the wood?

      Hey Tricia.

I would recommend sourcing locally. That way you don’t have to pay outrageous shipping costs. Hopefully there’s a local business selling wood slabs in your area.

***Tip*** Take the extra time to pick out a straight and level piece. Makes all the difference.

Is there anything other than Odie's Oil that can be used? Seems Amazon does not know if it will be back in stock.
