Ours is 20 x 40. Solar blankets do work, but they are a pain to take off because you need two people. And then it needs to be stored for the winter. The reel that holds the blanket takes up space at the end of the pool.
We had a heat pump installed two years ago, which heats the water, but it takes hours. It is worth it to me. Last year we switched from chlorine to salt. I think a salt system keeps the pool warmer than just chlorine. It is worth a try. Hope this helps.
