They dislike oregano and rosemary! I always have small plants of these two herbs planted around the other plants that usually get attacked! Also, they don't like tobacco, so I make a solution of alcohol infused with tobacco (the one they sell for gardens, not the one they smoke) and some soap. You have to re-apply but it works very well. They don't die before their time and you are happy!

Hi Gloria, you can sprinkle food-grade Diatomaceous Earth or crushed egg shells. Even grapefruit halves work too and they're all good for the garden. You can get Diatomaceous Earth at most garden centres

You can sprinkle Epsom Salt (ES) on the soil in your garden, be careful to not get it on your plants, it will burn them. As they crawl across the soil the ES will make them wither, just shrivel up and die. The ES is also a great nutrient for you plants.

If they are else where-like your pation or deck, you can use just plain table salt, put it right on them or where you see them traveling.

Hi Gloria, it might sound silly but we have a few overturned flowerpots, with a stone placed under the rim to lift them up a bit, scattered around our garden. We check them every few days for snails. They like crawling inside. Grapefruit and orange halves work too. We also try watering our garden in the morning instead of the evening. Snails and slugs like moist conditions so by watering in the morning it gives the surface soil time to dry out by the evening when snails are most active.
