What kind of paint can I use to paint galvenized pipe?

Hi Daphne, I would hit it first with a power washer to remove as much rust and old paint as possible and then repaint with a metal paint such as Rustoleum

Clean it first using 1/2 of tsp dissolved in a gallon of water. This will etch the metal underneath and make it more receptive to paint.

A water-based direct-to-metal, or DTM, paint designed for marine applications is the most reliable choice, but any quality acrylic latex paint will adhere.

Galvanized must be primed with a zinc compatible primer. I would find that primer first, or the paint will flake off over the years.

Repair rusted areas first with Rustoleum rust converter after you sanded it off.

Galvanized pipes are coated,need to wipe down with straight vinegar on rag let it sit on it about 15-20 minutes then scrub with steel wool or stiff brush to remove any rust and this will help get surface etched so paint will stick then rinse well,dry well, prime with KILZ Adhesion High-Bonding Interior/Exterior Latex Primer/Sealer then paint with rustoleum or other oil based paint.
