How to clean dirty stains on walls
Wash them. I use a vinegar water solution. A car wash sponge works well too. You can dry using the dry swiffer pads.
If it's just normal accumulation, I have a long static microfiber duster that I run along the wall and trim.
For more than that, warm soapy water and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or a Scrub Daddy - depending on the issues. Sometimes a degreaser in the kitchen or there was a specific incident.
I use warm water with dawn dish soap and wash cloth
I have used several things but found that I like vinegar, warm water and a touch of dawn dish soap best. I start at the top of the wall and work my way down. I first soak it a little bit then wipe off and let dry. If streaks show I wipe with fresh warm water.
If you don't have an all purpose steamer (which is what I use) then the Magic Eraser works well. If there is something that needs an extra boost, vinegar or window cleaner can help.
I use about 1/2 cup white vinegar to 1 gallon water and a squirt of blue dawn. Use a clean rag I use a bar cloth (terry cloth). I wash from the bottom to top. If you wash from top to bottom be careful of drips runnimg down the wall as it can cause a streak. If your walls are greasy with fingerprints from a mechanics fingerprints then use some diluted Awesome from the dollar store or some 409 if you are using these products you will need to wipe down with clear water and clean rag to give walls a rinse.
The best cleaner you can use in my opinion to cut through all the dirt is ammonia and warm water. It will remove all the dirt and make your walls look great. I also use it on my kitchen cabinets. It cleans them up beautifully and cuts through all the grease and grime.
