How do I put in a doggie door/opening?

I have a sliding glass door/(French doors most likely), that will not allow a normal doggie door installation. Leaving the door cracked open is allowing bugs and air conditioning out. Ugg what can I do?

I don't know how you would put a doggie door into the sliding door, but there are other options, which are a little pricey, but maybe they will inspire someone with diy skills to come up with their own:

Put the dog door on the bottom and make a piece of wood the same width as the dog door and measure the length of the rest of the door up to top then make a piece of wood to put there
