How to fix a paved backyard?

My backyard was paved at least 20 years ago. The spacers between the concrete slabs are almost gone and weed is taking over. How do I fix the spacers? What do I use?

Hi Amy, I suggest pulling the weeds away and also working through the yard and removing the old paving mix used as spacers, then adding a fine pea gravel or sand to replace it. It will be time consuming but probably worth the effort to make your yard look cared for again. You could actually spray weed killer into the spacer area before you add the pea gravel or sand. The concrete may need to be swept once in a while or hosed off and the pea gravel/sand will flow back into the spacer areas.

    Good luck with your project!!

Hello Amy, You could remove all the weeds and sprinkle in a quick drying cement mix that will draw the damp out of the ground and form a joint, or you could sprinkle Alpine Rock garden seeds or Camermille seeds into the gaps. and enjoy them ( Country cottage look)
