I have quite a few of these in my flowerbeds. We just bought home in October so I have no idea what they are. Help!! They are beautiful. Also, can they be cut?

Peonies and yes they can be cut.. can be cut back to ground when they quit blooming

that is a peony, I have the white ones in my garden.
some people collect peony plants, my uncle had over 30 of them in his property. each a different variety.
