Do you want to know what to stock a pantry with or how to build one from scratch?

Hi ! I made a small wall pantry . I had a 3-4 foot space in my kitchen. Since I don't have much cabinet space and I am short and can't even reach the cabinets in the far right side , I decided to make a wall pantry . I had some pallet wood planks , and I went to home depot and from their plumbing section I bought , 2 -8 inch black pipes, 2- flanges ( to attach to the wall ) and 2 end caps for each shelf. I put up five shelves they are 8 inches deep ( two bottom shelves are 12 inches deep ) and 30 inches wide . I attached the flanges to studs in the wall for support. Then screwed in the pipes and screwed the caps to the end of the pipe. Now I put all my dry goods in glass and clear plastic containers on the shelves . This makes it easier for me to get to frequently used items , while freeing up space in the cabinets for other things .

Note : I did but pipe holders that I was planning on putting underneath the shelf going around the pipe for extra support , but found i didn't need them .

Hi Phyliss are you looking to "stock up" or actually build a pantry with wood?

Hi, Phyllis. My small house doesn't have a pantry either and no room in the kitchen-living room for one, so I made one in my utility room with a 72" bookcase. On top of the case are those "big" things like vinegar, extra coffee, etc. First shelf is for cake mixes, frostings and extras of things I'm about to run out of -- pickle relish, catsup, etc. Second shelf is veggies and soups. Third shelf is canned meats, tomatoes and fruit. Fourth shelf is tea, snacks and boxed items (rice, etc.). Bottom shelf is crackers, cereal, two stacked baskets -- one for envelope mixes (cornbread, etc.) and one for cookies. You will usually have some room on a few shelves for items in baskets. This works well for me and since I already had the bookcase, didn't cost anything to create. Hope this helps.
