My kitchen sink is over 20 years old and since I am on a budget and can not afford a new sink how can I refurbish a stainless steel sink? It has no major issues just scratches and a dull look to it.

Barkeeps Friend cookware cleaner & polish. It’s sage for your sink and works miracles!

I would use some brillo and clean it really well and then try barkeepers friend cleaner or a stainless steel polish . Good luck !

Scrub with Comet (or your favorite cleanser) and very fine steel wool. The steel wool makes all the difference. (Learned that from a landlord.)

To remove scratches you have to make more deeper scratches going across the scratch. Get a rough wet dry sandpaper the black kind. I'm guessing 80 grit to start with. You could use an electric orbital sander on the flat areas but would probably have to do the corners by hand. Go over the whole sink very well. Change to 100 grit and go over the sink again. GRADUALLY use higher number sandpapers, 220, 320, 400, 600 until you get the surface look you want. During the process if you still see scratches go back over those areas with a lower number grit and gradually increase the number again. You can stop at matte satin finish or go for a high shine. Your sink should look brand new.
