I've been using this for mopping since around 2000 and my hardwoods shine like new. Just make sure to wring the mop as much as possible. If you have a build up, you will have to mop several times to remove it.

    ½ cup apple cider vinegar

    1 tsp blue Dawn

    2 gallons warm tap water

I'd clean them with Murphy's soap formulated for wood floors. Period. A beautiful clean floor will shine all on its own. I wouldn't add any waxy topcoat that will give you problems in the long run. Best of luck. IF by some chance you can afford it, and you have real hard wood floors, you might consider having them professionally sanded then polyurethaned to bring out the natural luster of the wood.

After you wash and applied a polish, acrylic or paste wax, rent if possible a floor polisher (or borrow your granny's)! You need to put on the sheep wool pads. The best way to have nice shiny floors.

Hello. We have had hardwood floors in our 7 different homes and have used a lot of HW floor products over the years. We stopped using the steam mop when it started blistering off the finish at the seams on a new traditional oil based sealed oak hw floor installation.

The past two years we have been using the BONA mop and solution and we’re very pleased with the results.
